HOW THE DOCS WORK
WordPress plugin documentation, written screen by screen
Every guide follows the tool’s own settings screen in the order you actually see it, so you are never hunting for the section a paragraph is describing. That is how the WordPress plugin documentation is written today, and it is the shape the desktop, extension and SaaS guides take as those products ship.

In the order you meet it
Every heading is a real section of the settings screen, read top to bottom.
A screenshot for every step
You always know you are looking at the right screen before you change anything.
Free and Pro in one page
No separate manual to cross-reference. Pro features are marked where they appear.
Updated with the release
Docs ship with the release they describe rather than trailing a version behind.

HOW TO READ IT
How our WordPress plugin documentation is organised
One page per product, top to bottom, in the order you meet the screens. Free and Pro features sit on the same page with the Pro parts marked, so nothing sends you hunting through a second site. A desktop app or a browser extension is written the same way, with the platform differences called out where they exist rather than split into a separate manual.
Every screenshot is taken from the current release. If the WordPress plugin documentation does not match what you see, the plugin is behind rather than the page.

QUESTIONS
Using the documentation
Open the guide for the plugin you have just installed and read the Installation and setup section. Everything after that is reference: you can jump straight to the settings section you are looking at on screen rather than reading start to finish.
Yes. There is one page per product covering both builds, with Pro-only features marked inline. That way you can see what upgrading would actually give you without hunting for a second manual or a comparison table.
Almost always a version difference. The WordPress plugin documentation is updated with each release, and the desktop and extension guides work the same way, so if a screen has moved, check the version you are running against the changelog at the bottom of the guide. If they match and the screen still differs, that is a documentation bug worth telling us about.
Yes, the search box on this page covers all of the WordPress plugin documentation at once, and every other product guide alongside it, rather than only the page you are on. If a term appears in more than one product, the results tell you which guide each hit belongs to.
Send a message through the contact page. Questions that come up more than once get written into the guide itself, which is how most of these pages grew. For anything about WordPress itself rather than our plugins, the official WordPress documentation is the better first stop.
Not as downloads yet. Every guide is a single page that prints cleanly, so a browser print to PDF gives you something readable to keep alongside a handover document. Proper offline versions are on the list rather than shipped.
Yes, and they are not thinner than the Pro pages. A free plugin someone cannot configure is a support ticket waiting to happen, so the free features get the same screen-by-screen treatment as the paid ones.
Every heading has its own anchor, so the address bar updates as you move through a guide and the link you copy lands on the exact section rather than the top of the page. That makes these pages easy to quote in a support reply, drop into a handover note, or send to a colleague who only needs the one step. The table of contents down the side does the same thing, so you can jump straight to the section matching whatever is on your screen.
Yes, on the same terms. The WordPress plugin documentation is what exists right now because the plugins are what have shipped, not because the other product lines are treated as second class. Every tool gets its guide written before it goes on sale, in the same one page per product shape, so nothing lands here with a thinner manual than the thing sitting next to it.
